Detailed floor plan
Property address; layout of the renovation area including stairs, doors, and windows; every room labelled; bedroom window dimensions and style; and the existing layout if walls are being added, removed, or changed. The city posts a hand-drawn sample — yours can look like that.

Engineer-stamped drawings — only for structural changes
Beams, posts supporting beams, load-bearing walls, floors, wall-opening enlargements, or new openings in foundation walls.

How to apply
Apply online through the city's self-serve portal (selfserve.edmonton.ca), or submit the Home Improvement Permit form to the Edmonton Service Centre.
